For the Young

The Southern Poverty Law Center sponsors Planet Tolerance - a colorful child-centered website which features fun games and opportunities for kids to reflect on their membership in a global culture. There's:

  • "One world mural" - an activity where kids join to create the largest mural on the web dedicated to unity and justice
  • "World Without Words" - an exploration of the multicultural English language
  • "Eat, My Fine Coat" - an ancient Turkish tale
  • "The Barking Mouse" - a story about a family of mice with a bilingual surprise

For Kids a Little Older

Youthnoise.com "fills a dangerous silence in global culture by giving youth voices to make a stand." A goal of this website is to help teens overcome the stereotypes about teens. This website offers teens the opportunity to get involved with global issues and to connect with other teens around the globe. A "Walk in My Shoes" section enables a teen to read about what it's like to grow up in another country.
